The constantly evolving worlds of work, training and employing mean that careers guidance is a vital part of young people\u2019s education and development.\u00a0 There has never been a time when students have needed a more varied and complex set of skills, experiences and knowledge to ensure they are aware of and able to take advantage of the opportunities and challenges they will face.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
At 51²è¹Ý We believe that the aims of the curriculum should focus on the knowledge, qualities and skills learners need to succeed in school and beyond. The curriculum should:<\/p>\r\n
With these aims in view, the intent <\/strong>of Careers Education, Information, Advice <\/strong>and Guidance <\/strong>(CEIAG) is to enable students to acquire a firm foundation of essential knowledge, understanding and skills alongside a commitment to lifelong learning as career paths continue to change and new knowledge and abilities are required. It engages students in a process which enables them to appreciate the skills they have gained and understand how they fit together, helping them to make ambitious decisions wisely throughout their lives particularly relating to education, training and employment.<\/p>\r\n Gatsby Benchmarks:\u00a0 These are:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Head of Careers.\u00a0\u00a0Mrs J. Preston<\/a><\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n Students in all years can book careers interviews with an independent advisor by speaking with Mrs Shimmin<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n Careers education and planning is, ideally, a collaborative effort involving a range of stakeholders including students, their parents, 51²è¹Ý staff as well as external business and training\/education providers.\u00a0 As well as making use of the resources provided on this page, 51²è¹Ý welcomes enquiries, feedback and suggestions from all stakeholders.\u00a0 These can be directed to the Head of Careers, Mrs J.
